FACULTY

The Department has experienced faculty in terms of knowledge and enabling them to impart a fine blend of theoretical and practical knowledge to the students. Faculty is also encouraged to undergo various training programmes, seminars, workshops etc. to enable them to upgrade their skills from time-to- time. Visionaries and achievers from the Tourism and Hospitality industry also share their experiences with the students when they visit the institute as guest lecturers to facilitate field inter-action.

RULES OF DISCIPLINE

1. Students would be bound by the rules and regulations framed by the institute from time to time.
2. Attendance from the first day of every term is compulsory, failing which the student is liable to be fined.
3. No student would be eligible to appear for the University Examination, unless he/ she has paid his/ her dues, completed his/her term work and must have registered minimum 80% attendance as per the University/ MSBVE norms.
4. Students should be regular and punctual in attending theory & practical classes during the semester. Break timings should be strictly adhered to.
5. Prior permission of the Principal is absolutely necessary for leave of absence for any reason whatsoever. In case of leave on medical grounds the student must inform the institute immediately and later submit the leave application along with a medical certificate.
6. Internal marks will be granted to the students on the basis of his/her attendance, conduct and performance during the tutorials/internal examinations.
7. The Principal is liable to remove any student from the roll of the institute for his/her continued absence, misconduct/ misbehavior of unsatisfactory performance.
8. A student may be refused admission to practical and/or lectures and may be marked as absent if he/she has failed to bring the required journals, uniform and equipment etc.
9. Students are expected to be well groomed & well behaved within the premises of the Institute.
10. Students must carry an authorized Identity Card at all times.
11. Students must be in their complete prescribed uniform as required for their practical’s.
12. Students must inculcate the habit of regularly reading the notices put up on the notice board.
13. Students must attend social and national events organized by the Institute.
14. Smoking, consumption of alcohol, use of drugs and ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the campus.
15. Students are liable to be penalized for any damage to Institute property, equipment furniture, library books etc. and the cost of damage shall be recovered from the concerned students.
16. Students are not allowed to keep their radio/mobile/cell phone ’ON’ in the premises, failing which, it shall be confiscated and the student will be fined.
17. Students shall not go to the press or any other publicity media without prior permission of the Principal.
18. Any changes in the residential address of the students must be intimated to the institute immediately.
19. Each student is supposed to follow the restaurant and dining hall rota duties, as put up on the notice board.
20. Students will not attend private outdoor catering (ODC) during the tenure of their study in the institute, without prior permission of the Principal, failing which strict action would be taken. Students are expected to take part in indoor/outdoor catering arranged by the institute.
21. Vacation Training in hotels is compulsory and every student must complete the training satisfactorily, followed by submission of the Training Report.
22. Parents/ Guardians are responsible to keep themselves in touch with the institute with regards to the progress of their ward.

UNIFORM FOR THE STUDENTS

All the students must be decently dressed and well groomed at all times. However, for practicals, the following uniforms are compulsory for admittance in the laboratories.
